LEGAL, NOT JUST. is committed to transparency about legal requests we receive. This page documents legal process notices, takedown demands, and court orders received by the project.
Our Reporting Policy
We report legal requests on this page only when:
- The request is lawful and valid
- Reporting will not create personal safety risks for the publisher or our community
- The request does not relate to an active criminal investigation where disclosure might interfere
When appropriate, we may redact sender identities, specific case details, or other sensitive information while still maintaining transparency about the nature and volume of requests received.

Annual Summary
We commit to publishing an annual transparency summary in the fourth quarter of each year, documenting:
- Total number of legal requests received

- Jurisdictions from which requests originated
- Number of requests complied with, challenged, or rejected
- Key legal principles that guided our decision-making
How to Serve Legal Process
To serve legal process (court orders, summons, or formal legal notices) on LEGAL, NOT JUST., please use the Contact form and select "Legal-process notices." Include:
- The court or authority issuing the notice
- A copy of the relevant legal document
- The specific content affected and reason for the request
- Your contact information
All legal process will be reviewed and handled in accordance with applicable law.
