What we are
The Australian Justice Transparency Initiative is an independent project dedicated to documenting and making accessible publicly available evidence of systemic failures in Australia's legal system. We compile royal commission findings, court judgments, coroner reports, and regulatory decisions to support transparent, lawful advocacy for legal system reform.
Our mission
We believe Australians deserve:

What we publish
The dossier contains case summaries, statistical analyses, and evidence compilations focused on:

- Systemic failures identified in royal commissions and inquiries

All content is drawn from public sources with direct attribution and links to primary documents.
Editorial standards
We maintain rigorous editorial standards to ensure accuracy and credibility:
- Primary sources only: Every factual claim is linked to a published court judgment, royal commission report, tribunal finding, regulator decision, or coroner inquest
- Findings-based: We report what courts and regulators have formally found, not allegations or disputed claims
- Neutral language: We avoid inflammatory or editorializing language about individuals, focusing on documented institutional failures
- Transparency about pending matters: Cases that are ongoing or allegations that remain unproven are clearly flagged
- Attribution: Every major assertion includes a hyperlink to its source

How to propose new cases or topics
We encourage submissions of documented cases for inclusion in the dossier. To nominate a case, send an email to contact@australianjusticetransparency.org including:
- A brief description of the matter
- Links to the key court judgment, tribunal decision, or regulator report
- Any relevant dates or jurisdictions
Cases are reviewed against our editorial standards and added to the dossier if they meet our criteria for documentation and sourcing.
Lawful advocacy
The Australian Justice Transparency Initiative is dedicated to lawful, peaceful, and democratic advocacy for legal system reform. All campaigns, petitions, and communications promoted on this site are designed to support formal democratic processes, including parliamentary petitions, public consultation, and royal commission terms of reference.
We do not support illegal conduct, violence, harassment, or targeting of individuals. All community content is pre-moderated and subject to our Community Guidelines.
Independence and funding
This project is run independently and is not affiliated with government, political parties, or legal professional bodies. We operate with minimal funding and rely on volunteer contributions.
